My experience La mia esperienza
The interest in the activities on board the space station has always been. Read the TNC beacon on board the MIR (R0MIR-1) decoded by the C64 has always aroused my curiosity and fascination, and I regret never being able to link it with the system I had.
From several months I started to follow the ISS: Internationl Space Station. I started listening to APRS packets transmitted from the ISS and with a mini PC I prepared a satgate, that sends packets heard by radio to the Internet server to make them available to everyone.
The collector of these packages is ariss.net.
After a few days, using UISS, UISS_Orb and Orbitron, I reach the ISS with my APRS beacon. Finally!
On 23 November 2010, I improvised a 2m band dipole for the TH-D7 I did listen to the answers of col. Doug Wheelok (commander of the expedition 25) students' questions, to my office colleagues.
Since then, some of them are following with great interest in my activities and, sometimes, come to my station. Even worse are organized to observe the ISS with the naked eye.
Now I hope to connect the ISS on voice, perhaps with Paolo Nespoli radio operator on board. 		L'interesse per le attivitā a bordo delle stazioni spaziali č sempre stato molto. Leggere i beacon del TNC a bordo della MIR (R0MIR-1) decodificati dal mio C64 ha sempre suscitato curiositā e fascino, e rimpiango di non essere mai riuscito a collegarla con il poco che avevo a disposizione.
Da qualche mese ho iniziato a seguire la ISS: Internationl Space Station ovvero Stazione Spaziale Internazionale. Ho iniziato ad ascoltare i pacchetti APRS trasmessi dalla ISS e con un mini pc ho preparato un satgate, che invia i pacchetti ascoltati via radio ai server in internet per renderli disponibili a tutti.
Il collettore di questi pacchetti č ariss.net.
Dopo qualche giorno, utilizzando UISS, UISS_Orb e Orbitron, sono riuscito a raggiungere la ISS con i miei beacon APRS. Finalmente!
Il 23 novembre 2010, ho improvvisato un dipolo per i 2m e con il TH-D7 ho fatto ascoltare le risposte del col. Doug Wheelok (comandante della spedizione 25) alle domande degli studenti, ai miei colleghi d'ufficio.
Da allora alcuni di loro seguono con molto interesse le mie attivitā e, a volte, vengono nella mia stazione. Come se non bastasse si organizzano per poter osservare la ISS a occhio nudo.
Ora spero di riuscire a collegare la ISS in fonia, magari con Paolo Nespoli quale operatore alla radio di bordo.
